Baby Blankets

I make all kinds of baby blankets.  Quilts, crocheted, flannel ragged, I have even tried my hand at knitting blankets, although I have to admit that I never finished a knitted blanket!  I also have ideas for some cute satin backed blankets and some knit blankets, the type of material, not the process of that uses two needles and yarn.

Lately, the majority have been flannel ragged blankets.  They are really cute and a fairly fast project, but fringing all the seams does take some time. There are some really great flannel prints out there, so you can get creative with your fabric choice.  I like to mix in supper soft fleece for some added texture.  I usually make up the pattern for the blanket while I am cutting out the material, figuring out what size to cut the pieces and leave the least wasted material.

Flannel Ragged Blanket

Here is an example of a blanket that I crocheted.  I gave it as a gift to some friends of ours, who had a baby boy.  It is one large granny square.
